It’s hard to believe it is September already, and with that comes our favourite day to spoil the special man in our loves – Dad! Here we explore the Top 5 Sydney restaurants whether it’s a hearty roast, or a fancy fine dining spread overlooking the harbour.
One of the things that brings people together is the experience of a delectable and memorable meal, so why not #supportyourlocal and take him, and the rest of your family out for a dinner (or lunch) to remember?
From 12pm, Surry Hills pub and restaurant Forrester’s will be cooking up its usual Big Yorkie, which Dad will love for Father’s Day lunch. Setting him (or you, if you’re shouting him) $32, it’s filled with the roast, crispy spuds, peas and carrots. If that doesn’t tickle his fancy, he can order a la carte, with a menu including sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream as a finisher.
It’s the perfect venue for a big family celebration with their menu of pub classics, wine, and cocktails. Why not stick around til 5pm to enjoy some live local music and have a boogie with Dad?
Henrietta’s has become famous for their signature dish of charcoal chicken and mouth-watering share plates and have recently spread the love to Melbourne with their little sister venue in Chapel Street, Windsor. The food here is sublime with chicken-tawouk (skewered chicken) spring rolls with toum; lamb kibbeh (bulgur, minced onions, finely ground meat and spices) san choy bow; brisket-shawarma tacos with zhug (a Yemeni hot sauce similar to chimichurri); and falafel bao with harissa and mint yoghurt. Vegetarians and vegans are not left out either with delectable side dishes like their finger-licking corn ribs.
Henrietta’s are also celebrating Father’s Day with a free Henrietta’s Lager of Love for every Dad dining with them this Father’s Day!
Treat dad to a fabulous day out by the water and enjoy a long, luxurious lunch or dinner with the family. Catalina’s chefs have created a deluxe 4 course menu commencing with canapes on arrival, choice of entree, main and dessert, coffee & petits fours. Lunch menu @ $220 per person. All drinks charged in addition.
They will also be open for dinner if that suits you better, and are offering our 3 course fixed price a la carte menu @ $140 per person.
The Butler Potts Point honours historic ‘Butlers Restaurant’ that occupied this same site many years ago, paying tribute to its original structure, food and service style with a fresh flair.
Father’s Day at The Butler gives you the option to order a la carte or the $75pp Butler’s Banquet menu that features Head Chef’s Amber Doig’s favourite selection of dishes from the Ibero-American-influenced menu.
Serving up exotic cuisine, Shaffa is the perfect place to treat your foodie father to a long lunch! The atmospheric eatery brings a modern twist to Middle Eastern street food.
Their brunch feast includes marinated flank steak paired with classic fluffy laffa, house-made hummus, seasonal pickles, charred harissa olives, tabbouleh, Jaffa port fish tartar and Badinjan. Round off your meal with coconut malabi and a choice of Turkish coffee or Moroccan mint tea – all for $70 per person.
