The Beaufort was established in Carlton, Melbourne in 2012 originally the dream of owner Dave Kerr. It has since blossomed into a multi-faceted business with Ike’s Rack Shack, serving up cocktails, $6 tinnies and Australian smoked BBQ to more than 1,000 customers per week.
The Beaufort prides itself on delivering an authentic “nautical dive bar” experience for guests, quality cocktails, optimum customer service and a team of knowledgeable employees.
The Impos team has been an essential partner of The Beaufort since the beginning, helping it grow into the multi-faceted business that it is today. Impos has provided the structure and efficiency that enables The Beaufort to operate with a small but dedicated team.
Twelve Beaufort employees use Impos Plus daily across front of house, administration and management, enabling effective communication and data exchange between employees. For the front of house staff, Impos Plus provides an intuitive graphic user interface (GUI) that is simple to teach new users, but powerful enough to ensure that all orders are completed without fault. For administration and management staff, it has helped to provide more detailed analytics to determine return on investment (ROI) and inform future processes.
More recently, The Beaufort implemented Impos’ stock module enabling the bar, kitchen and management teams to make purchasing decisions based on real-time information. The stock module feature has improved the accounting team’s ability to provide accurate data to analyse business health and better understand return on investment (ROI). As an industry that relies on incredibly small margins, this feature has been crucial to improve stocktaking and minimising wastage.
By implementing the stock module, The Beaufort is now able to manage stocktaking in-house, saving more than $25,000 per year and gives exact usage figures across The Beaufort’s entire stock range.
With Impos, The Beaufort has been able to increase efficiencies through enabling greater information sharing across the business and integration with other systems. Impos also continues to provide 24/7 support to The Beaufort, and as a business that “pushes the boundaries”, it relies on this support to ensure any disruptions don’t last long.
