Competition in the Australian hospitality sector is heating up! That’s just one of the findings to come out of the 2017 Australian Hospitality Industry Survey that Impos designed to shed light on the state of the industry and current trends among hospitality businesses.

 

Our survey had more than 596 respondents, to whom we asked all manner of questions to try to glean what’s going on, what is driving this boom, what the difficulties are and what can be improved industry-wide. Well the numbers are in, and the results are particularly insightful!

What the survey stats say about the current state of Australia’s hospitality industry

Most respondents reported an increase in competition, which they put down to a number of factors, including a thriving foodie culture and a rise in Australians fulfilling dreams of opening a hospitality business.

Despite further competition, most hospitality businesses still expect to increase revenue in the next year. With their revenue growth, hospitality businesses plan to invest predominantly in their staff, proving that the hospitality industry remains a strong job creator.
